Meet Our Calvary Team

I never set out to become a pastor. Looking back, I can see God's hand leading me long before I understood where He was taking me.

In 2000, I was sitting in a Sunday School class when the teacher said, “If you're saved this morning, say amen.” I couldn't. I knew I was lost. After class, he took me to a nearby broom closet, opened the Scriptures with me, and that morning I gave my life to Jesus Christ. I still remember the weight that lifted from my shoulders and the excitement of wanting to tell someone what had happened.

About a year later, God called me to preach. During our annual camp meeting, I was listening to some wonderful preachers when I felt God impress on my heart, “You can do that.” My response was, “Who, me? God, I think You have the wrong person.” I eventually surrendered to His call, preached my first sermon a few months later, and spent the years that followed learning to serve, teach, preach, and lead.

Calvary has been part of our family's story for many years. My wife spent much of her youth here, and I eventually served as Calvary's associate pastor for nearly three years. Later, God led my wife and me away, though we didn't understand why at the time.

After about a year of searching for another church, God unexpectedly opened the door for us to return to Calvary. We sensed His leading, and in July 2025, Calvary called me to serve as pastor.

Today, my heart is to see Calvary become a church where every generation can know Christ, grow in His Word, and serve together. I want to preach God's Word faithfully and clearly, never watering down the Gospel, while also being genuine about the fact that I'm still growing myself.

I don't want to be on a pedestal. I want people to see Jesus.

My wife and I started dating in high school and were married in 2005. More than twenty years later, I can honestly say I love her more today than I did when we first started dating. We enjoy creating and building things together, spending time with our family, and finding any excuse to get to the pool or beach. I also enjoy just about any sport, especially football and baseball.

But wherever I am or whatever I'm doing, I'm reminded of how good God has been to me. He saved me when I didn't even realize how much I needed Him, called me when I never thought I could do it, and has continued to lead me in ways I never could have planned.

I'm simply grateful to be where He has called me—and I'm excited to see what He wants to do through Calvary.
