At Calvary Baptist Church, we are a congregation committed to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, loving people, and standing on the unchanging truth of God’s Word.
Below is a summary of our core beliefs.
We believe in one God who eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is holy, sovereign, loving, and worthy of all worship.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19)
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God—fully God and fully man.
He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and is coming again. Salvation is found in Him alone.
(John 1:1,14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 4:12)
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts people of sin, regenerates and indwells believers, and empowers the church for godly living and ministry.
(John 16:8; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9)
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is our final rule for faith, doctrine, and daily living.
(2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119:105)
We believe all people are created in the image of God but are sinners by nature. Because of sin, we are separated from God and in need of salvation.
(Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23)
We believe salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. It cannot be earned by good works. All who are truly saved are eternally secure in Christ.
(Ephesians 2:8–9; John 10:28–29)
We believe the local church is a body of baptized believers, united in faith and mission. Christ is the Head of the church, and every believer is called to serve, grow, and share the gospel.
(Acts 2:41–47; Colossians 1:18)
We believe baptism is the immersion of a believer in water as a public testimony of faith.
The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic memorial of Christ’s death and a reminder of His promised return.
(Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26)
We believe God created marriage as the lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and the family as the primary unit for nurturing faith and character.
(Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22–33)
We believe it is the responsibility and privilege of every believer and every church to share the gospel with all people, locally and globally.
(Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:8)
We believe Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to judge the world and to bring all things to their rightful end in His eternal kingdom.
(Titus 2:13; Revelation 22:12)
